Global Infectious Disease Intelligence

A Harvard-MIT team developed HealthMap.org - online media reports for global infectious disease intelligence.  Healthmap is an automated, real-time, multi-stream, free and open resource that displays a unified and comprehensive view of the current global state of infectious diseases and their effect on human and animal health.  Originally built using open source tools, Healthmap is an ambitious project that tracks emerging diseases on a worldwide basis like West Nile virus, SARS and H1N1 Swine Flu.  Until now, focus has been knowledge management.

While it has its limitations (notable ones being filtering algorithms, limited language inputs), it is recognized and used be federal and state authorities (such as CDC and state public health authorities) as a resource of note.  Other private companies we have worked with at Halpern Info Services specialize in related public health matters and may be more appropriate for your needs.
